Twinkle, twinkle, American Star.
How I wonder why 2029 is so far.
Up above.
A just world?
Never close enough.
Who voted?
Who wrote it?
Who killed Nolan?
Well.
Someone speak up.
Twinkle, twinkle, American Star.
How I wonder ‘bout the stripes you’ve marred.
I wrote this poem to convey the longing for justice in the midst of experiencing so many drastic changes with the country that affect the livelihood of many people across the economic spectrum. Wondering when things will change for the better and not for the worse. Will we ever know what is true and what is not anymore? Justice for Nolan Wells.
